Fridge Not Cooling? 5 Things to Check Before You Call

A fridge that stops cooling is stressful, but the cause isn’t always a major fault. Here are a few things worth checking before you pick up the phone — and the signs that mean you should call us straight away.

1. Check the power and thermostat

It sounds obvious, but a bumped thermostat dial or a tripped powerpoint is a common culprit. Confirm the fridge has power and the temperature dial hasn’t been knocked.

2. Give the coils and vents room to breathe

Dusty condenser coils and blocked internal vents stop a fridge shedding heat. A gentle clean and a few centimetres of clearance behind the unit can make a real difference.

If it’s still warm after these checks, don’t risk your groceries — book a repair and we’ll get refrigeration back on as a priority.
